We’d like to thank those who donated and purchased uniforms at last week’s uniform exchange. We saw some great pieces heading to new homes… a win for both families involved in the exchange! This event, as with all our SMA events, could not have been possible without our volunteers. Thank you to Elizabeth Berenguer, Stacy Butler, Michelle Carrick, Dina Corrado, Vicki Lazaro, Shanti Martinez, Anna McCallister-Nichols, Kanchana Naren, and Mike Peyton for your support!
We’d also like to extend our gratitude to those who have volunteered their time to be room parents this year. The SMA and faculty are incredibly grateful for your time and dedication. We have an incredible St. Michael’s family and deeply appreciate your commitment to our children!
The SMA Coffee Corner returns this Friday, August 28. Our Coffee Corner is a great opportunity to meet new families, reconnect with friends, and hear of the upcoming programs at St. Michael’s. As a complement to your morning coffee, the Eighth Grade Class will be hosting a bake sale at this Friday’s social. We hope you can join us for a cup of coffee and a treat or two between 7:30-8:30 a.m. outside the School Office.
For anyone who may have some extra time to give during the school year, the SMA will be hosting a “volunteer fair” at this week’s Coffee Corner. We hope you will find this time useful in discovering the many wonderful opportunities the SMA has for parent volunteers. These events would not be possible without the generous support of our families. Thank you for the consideration!
Also in conjunction with Coffee Corner, we will be hosting a fall uniform exchange in the Foundations Courtyard before and after school on Friday. You will receive tickets for items donated in good condition and can then use these tickets to purchase items in exchange. If you are without items to donate but are in need of gently used, high-quality items, we do accept cash and check payment for purchases.
Lastly, for those of you who have graciously offered your time to be a room parent, there will be a meeting next Tuesday, September 1, at 8:05 a.m. in the Smith Parish Center. This informative meeting will be your opportunity to hear of the responsibilities of being a room parent and ask any questions you may have. We are still in search of a few classroom parents. If this interests you, please contact one of the SMA chairs, Terese Souvignier or Julia Rebert.
With only two SMA Coffee Corners remaining in this school year, we hope you can join us at our next one, sponsored by Frost, to be held this Friday, April 10, at 7:30 a.m. outside the School Office.
In conjunction with Friday’s Coffee Corner, the SMA will also be hosting a spring uniform exchange in the Foundations Courtyard from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. If you have gently used items your children have outgrown, you can still donate them this week. Simply drop off your items at the School Office with your name, or at the exchange on Friday, and we will have tickets for you in return. These tickets can be used to purchase new items and have no expiration…a win-win situation for your growing children!
